Interview Evaluations

Before you start

  • Requires: Campaign Manager (assigned to the campaign) or Admin role.
  • The candidate must have completed an interview and at least one interviewer must have submitted an evaluation. If the interview is booked but not yet held, no evaluations will appear.

Open the evaluations panel

  1. From the Applications page, open the application.
  2. On the application detail page, scroll past the stage progress timeline to the Interview Evaluations section.
  3. Each evaluation submitted for this candidate appears as its own card, newest first.

If the candidate has interviews on multiple stages of the workflow, all evaluations are listed together — the event type title at the top of each card tells you which interview it belongs to.

Reading an evaluation card

Each evaluation card has:

  1. The interviewer's avatar and name at the top-left.
  2. The interview title and the date the interview happened.
  3. The recommendation badge at the top-right (see below).
  4. The overall score as a large number and a horizontal progress bar.
  5. Criteria ratings — a list of every criterion with the score the interviewer gave.
  6. Strengths (green), Areas for Improvement (red), and Additional Comments (neutral) — free-text sections written by the interviewer.
  7. A Submitted timestamp at the bottom-left.
  8. Approve / Reject buttons at the bottom-right (only when the stage is awaiting a decision).

Recommendation badges

The interviewer picks one of four overall recommendations:

BadgeMeaning
Strongly Recommend (green, thumbs-up)The interviewer is confident the candidate should advance
Recommend (blue, thumbs-up)Lean toward advancing
Neutral (grey, dash)The interviewer is on the fence — read the comments carefully
Not Recommend (red, thumbs-down)The interviewer thinks the candidate should not advance

The recommendation is the interviewer's view — your Approve / Reject decision can override it.

Criteria ratings

Each criterion configured for the interview type (e.g. Communication Skills, Technical Knowledge, Cultural Fit) is rated on the scale set up by the institution — usually 1–5 or 1–10. The card shows each criterion as a row with its score in an outline badge.

The overall score at the top is a weighted average of these criteria, computed by the system using the weights set on the interview type. You don't compute it.

Strengths, weaknesses, and comments

The three free-text sections are optional but interviewers usually fill them:

  • Strengths (green heading) — what the candidate did well.
  • Areas for Improvement (red heading) — gaps the interviewer noticed.
  • Additional Comments (neutral heading) — anything that didn't fit above. Often a final summary or a note flagging a concern.

These are visible to you and other admin/manager users, but not to the candidate.

Multiple evaluators

For interviews with collective scheduling (multiple interviewers on the same booking), each interviewer submits their own evaluation. You'll see one card per interviewer.

When multiple cards exist:

  • The card you act on first sets the stage outcome — there's no automatic averaging across cards. Read all cards before clicking Approve or Reject.
  • Once the first card's decision is made, the others show a status badge (Approved or Rejected) and the action buttons disappear.

Approve or reject the evaluation

The action buttons are only active when the stage is Awaiting Review (yellow badge):

  • Approve — opens a confirmation dialog. Confirming will:
    • Mark the stage Approved (green check).
    • Send a WhatsApp notification to the candidate telling them this stage has been approved.
    • Advance the candidate to the next stage on their timeline.
  • Reject — opens a confirmation dialog. Confirming will:
    • Mark the stage Rejected (red X).
    • Not send any notification — you decide if and how to communicate.
    • Stop the candidate's progress on the workflow.

If the stage is already approved or rejected, the action buttons are replaced by the status badge.

What the candidate sees

After Approve:

  • The stage on their timeline flips from Awaiting Review to Completed.
  • They get a WhatsApp message (if their WhatsApp number is on file).
  • The next stage unlocks.

After Reject:

  • The stage flips to Rejected.
  • No notification is sent. They'll see the change on their dashboard the next time they sign in.
  • The application generally won't progress further unless an Admin reopens the stage.
